Tracking billable hours in Militime
- From the project. Each project carries a billing model — hourly, retainer, bank of hours or fixed price — and hourly projects carry a rate that can be set per client and per project, with date ranges. When you stop the timer, the entry is already priced against the rate in effect on that date.
- Yes, and you should. Admin, business development and internal work are tracked the same way and simply aren't flagged billable. That's what makes the billable ratio meaningful — and what turns cost of delivery into a real number in profitability reporting.
- That's the normal case, not the exception. Rates are per client and per project rather than one global number, so a client you've worked with for three years and one you signed last week can sit side by side without you doing any mental arithmetic.
